Antigonish Challenger Baseball

Nova Scotia Challenger Baseball started in 2014 with the goal of providing children and youth with disabilities the opportunity to play organized sport. When the program launched, just 40 athletes and 40 buddies from five communities participated. Cleves Source for Sports Athlete of the Month for August announced

(Halifax, September 24, 2018)- Sailor, Noah Adler  is the Male Individual Athlete of the Month for August. The 13-year-old from Prospect won gold at the 2018 Canadian Optimist Championships in Squamish from August 19-22. This open regatta hosted 92 competitors from three countries. Noah’s success qualified him to represent Canada again next summer in the same competition hosted by Antigua and Barbuda. READ MORE

Become a Regional Sport Consultant (Cape Breton Region)

Sport Nova Scotia is seeking an ambitious and motivated individual with proven experience in sport development at the community level.

A true self-starter, the Regional Sport Consultant is responsible to work with community sport organizations, provincial sport organizations, schools and community groups to identify, collaborate and support the continuation and creation of sustainable sport opportunities in the Cape Breton region.

Reporting to the Manager of Participation Development, the Regional Sport Consultant will be based in Sydney and work closely with the regional manager for the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage.

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary designation in a related field or equivalent work experience in sport administration at the local, provincial or national level. Experience working with multiple stakeholders, communicating effectively, and meeting coordination would be considered assets.
