Applicants are encouraged to read the eligibility information noted here and ensure they meet the criteria before beginning an application. If eligible, please review and complete an application and all requested supplementary information by the 15th of each month.

The Support4Sport Allocation Committee reviews the applications at the end of each month. The deadlines for submitting applications will be strictly adhered to. All applicants can confirm receipt of the application through the URL provided. All applicants will be notified by email within five business days of the allocation committee's decision(s).

Who is Eligible?
This is funding that will be available to active and associate members of Sport Nova Scotia for organizational initiatives to increase participation and support coach and officials development.

Please note: NCCP Coaching certification is not eligible for funding

Funding Criteria/Evaluation:

The criteria that will be considered for this funding program are the following:

1. Description of the project and Fit within the Long-Term Athlete Development Model (particular focus on early stages)

2. How the project develops the Try-Learn-Play pathway

3. Technical support for the program design and delivery

4. What program(s) are to be delivered in each year of the project, specifically:

    a. Outcomes (what is learned/delivered)

    b. Frequency, duration, and length of sessions

    c. Leadership

5. Complete Budget

    a. Must have at least one other revenue source (PSO contribution, fundraising, etc.)

6. Sustainability

Evaluation of these programs will occur annually. Evaluations will review the areas listed below:

1. Meeting program goals

2. Quality of program

3. Number of participants

4. Financials

5. Leadership

*Support4Sport will not fully fund an initiative without any source of revenue i.e. PSO Contribution, fundraising, etc.

Allocation process:

Organizations can apply four times annually. A Support4Sport review committee with representation from Sport Nova Scotia, the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic, the Department of Health and Wellness, and a representative from the sport community will make decisions regarding allocations.

Application/allocation timeline:

Deadlines for applications are the 15th of each month.

Funding amount: $350,000 available annually to be allocated through this program

Reporting Process / Timeline:

Reports for applications are due one year after the application is approved. Reports must include:

1. Outline of program and key benefits to the sport.

2. Outline of actual budget.

Any organization receiving funding who does not submit a final report will be ineligible to receive funding from Support4Sport programs.
